Savanna AR
A 3D model anchored to a printed marker, in the browser — no app to install. One printed artefact does both jobs: a phone reads it as an ordinary QR code and opens this app, and the black square in its centre is the target the tracker locks onto to stand the model on.
Take these in order: print or display the marker first, then open the AR view. With nothing to point the camera at, the AR view just looks broken.
1. Get the marker
Print the marker QR code, or just display it on a second screen. Scanning it with a phone camera opens the AR view on that phone.
Open the printable marker2. Open the AR view
Allow the camera when prompted, then hold the marker steady so it fills about a third of the frame. The model appears on top of it. Video is processed on your device and is never uploaded.
Open the AR view
The camera needs a secure context, so the AR view works over HTTPS or on localhost. The
project README covers running it locally and swapping in a different 3D model.
